Lieutenant Tanjim Sarwar Dies During Joint Forces Operation in Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria

Lieutenant Tanzim Sarowar Nirjhar: A Hero’s Legacy Lives On

Bangladesh mourns the loss of one of its brave sons, Lieutenant Tanzim Sarowar Nirjhar (BA-11453), who was tragically killed during a joint forces operation in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar. Around 2:30 AM, based on intelligence reports, an Army team launched an operation targeting armed individuals in the area.

The operation quickly escalated when the armed miscreants opened fire, targeting the Army personnel. Despite the team’s efforts to secure the area, Lieutenant Tanzim was struck by a bullet that penetrated through his head. Immediate medical attention was provided, and he was rushed to the field hospital. However, due to the severity of his injuries, the decision was made to transfer him to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH). Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the facility.

Initial reports suggested that Lieutenant Tanzim had been fatally stabbed, but officers from Ramu Cantonment have confirmed that he was killed by gunfire.

Lieutenant Tanzim Sarowar Nirjhar was known for his courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his duties. As a proud member of Pabna Cadet College’s 36th batch, his leadership and sense of responsibility set him apart as an exceptional officer. His ultimate sacrifice is a reminder of the dangers faced by those who protect our nation.
