BGB Detains BSF Member for Illegal Border Crossing in Dinajpur

BSF Member Detained for Illegal Border Crossing in Dinajpur

A member of India’s Border Security Force (BSF) has been detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) for illegally crossing the border at the Biral sector in Dinajpur. The detainee has been identified as Upal Kumar Das.

In an official statement, BGB’s public relations officer, Md Shariful Islam, confirmed that the BSF personnel was apprehended after crossing the zero line into Bangladesh territory. Colonel Md Ariful Islam, the Dinajpur BGB sector commander, stated that the BSF member had crossed the border mistakenly and was detained by BGB forces.

“BSF officials have been notified, and the detained individual will be handed over to them after a meeting between BGB and BSF officials,” said Colonel Ariful Islam.

The incident occurred during routine border patrolling and is being resolved through standard diplomatic procedures between the two countries.
