Bangladesh Navy Successfully Concludes Annual Sea Exercise ‘Exercise Safeguard’ with Missile Launch in the Bay of Bengal

Dhaka, January 29, 2025: The Bangladesh Navy has successfully concluded its annual sea exercise, ‘Exercise Safeguard,’ with a spectacular missile launch in the Bay of Bengal, showcasing its formidable defense capabilities. This year’s exercise featured a series of advanced naval maneuvers, demonstrating the Navy’s preparedness to safeguard the nation’s maritime sovereignty.

One of the key highlights of the exercise was the successful launch of an anti-ship missile, a testament to the Navy’s cutting-edge warfare technology and precision strike capabilities. In addition, the forces executed flawless anti-aircraft missile launches, showcasing their ability to counter aerial threats effectively. Other major operational drills included Special Forces operations, anti-submarine warfare exercises utilizing depth charges, and a fleet review to exhibit the strategic coordination of naval assets.

The grand event was attended by high-ranking officials from all branches of the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan extended a special invitation to Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, along with other senior officials from the Armed Forces Division. Their presence underscored the joint operational strength and inter-service cooperation within the country’s defense framework.

‘Exercise Safeguard’ serves as an essential training ground for the Navy, ensuring combat readiness, enhancing tactical proficiency, and reinforcing Bangladesh’s maritime security framework.
